Eagle AviationFlight School

Learn to fly at Pleasanton Municipal Airport, just south of San Antonio. We take you from your first discovery flight through your private pilot certificate and beyond, with certified flight instructors and training aircraft on the field.

Flight Training

Whether you want to fly for fun, for work, or as the first step toward a professional career, training starts the same way: in a real airplane, with an instructor beside you.

Discovery Flights

The best way to find out if flying is for you. Take the controls with a certified instructor in the seat next to you and see Pleasanton from the air. It counts as your first lesson.

Private Pilot & Beyond

Structured training toward your private pilot certificate, with paths to continue into advanced ratings as your goals grow. Training is tailored to your schedule and experience.

Aircraft & Instructors

Training aircraft are available at Pleasanton Municipal Airport, and certified flight instructors are on staff. You train where you fly, with no commuting to a big-city flight line.

A Part 61 flight school

Eagle Aviation trains under FAA Part 61, which means the program is built around you instead of a fixed classroom schedule. Your instructor shapes the plan to your goals, your pace, and your life. The certificate you earn is exactly the same.

  • Your schedule. Train evenings, weekends, or full-time. The pace is yours.
  • One-on-one. Every lesson is flown with your instructor and tailored to how you learn.
  • No wasted hours. The syllabus flexes to your progress instead of a rigid timeline.
  • Start to finish. One plan from your first lesson to your checkride, held to the same FAA standards as any school.

A growing home field

Eagle Aviation trains at Pleasanton Municipal Airport, a city-owned field south of San Antonio, and one in the middle of a major expansion.

499 Acres Acquired

The City of Pleasanton has purchased roughly 499 acres adjacent to the field to make room for a major airport expansion.

An Expanded Runway

The centerpiece of the plan is a realigned, expanded runway, developed with TxDOT Aviation using state and federal funds, a project the city estimates at around $44 million.

New Hangars & Fuel Farm

Federal investment is already on the ground, with recent groundbreakings for a new fuel farm and a hangar with space for up to eight aircraft, backed by $1.71 million in USDA funding.

A growing field means more aircraft, more hangar space, and more room to train. Get started.

About Clint Powell

Eagle Aviation is Texan owned and operated, led by Clint Powell, a career pilot with decades of real-world experience across flight instruction, charter, corporate, and airline flying. He also serves as mayor of Pleasanton, the town he flies over every week.

Clint has taught as a certificated flight instructor (CFI), instrument instructor (CFII), and multi-engine instructor (MEI). He has flown as a Part 135 and corporate captain, and as an airline pilot with Mesa Airlines and Frontier Airlines. He also holds an FAA Part 107 remote pilot certificate.

That experience shapes how he trains: the habits, judgment, and standards of professional flying, taught from the first lesson.
