What is an FAA flight review?

To act as pilot in command, you need a flight review every 24 calendar months (FAR 61.56). It's not a checkride — it's a proficiency check with a CFI to make sure you're safe and current.

Most common

Biennial Flight Review (BFR)

Required for all pilots who want to carry passengers as PIC. Minimum one hour ground and one hour flight — tailored to your experience and the aircraft you fly.

  • Review regs, airspace & weather
  • Maneuvers & emergency procedures
  • CFI endorsement in your logbook

Instrument pilots

Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC)

If your instrument currency has lapsed, an IPC restores your ability to fly IFR under Part 91. We cover the tasks your examiner would — in a focused, no-pressure session.

  • Holds, approaches & missed approaches
  • Partial panel & unusual attitudes
  • Regain IFR privileges same day

What to expect

1

Tell us your situation

BFR due soon? IPC needed? Flying your own aircraft or ours? We'll match you with the right CFI and plan.

2

Ground + flight session

At least one hour on the ground and one in the air. We focus on what matters for how you actually fly — not a generic script.

3

Logbook endorsement

Pass the review and your CFI signs you off on the spot. You're current for another 24 months — back in the left seat.
